UMi Touch will be priced at $149.99, will be user-defined crowd funded
UMi has slowly started revealing details on its upcoming UMi Touch Smartphone. For starters, it will be priced at Rs. 149.99 and is allegedly world’s first user-defined and crowd funded smartphone.
UMi has been holding a questioner / survey at “Project Apollo” to find out user requirements in their next smartphone. The UMi touch is the result. Users can pay $1 and become Apollo partner where all partners can buy this mobile for just $99. Moreover, 1-percent of lucky users will get the smartphone for free.
Users can fill the $1 application from January 20, 2016 (12PM GMT+2). Upon completion, users can successfully redeem a code (after payment) and become UMi partner in this particular Project Apollo.
From what we know so far, UMi Touch specs will include a 5.5-Inch Sharp Display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It will have a MediaTek Octa Core processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage space.
This upcoming smartphone will feature a full metal uni-body design with thickness of 8.2 mm. It houses a powerful 3900 mAh battery as well that powers the hardware. It also has a front fingerprint sensor as well.
The cellphone will features a 13MP primary shooter on the back with Sony Sensor with dual-tone LED flash. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.0, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack will be supported as well.
