Sony Xperia XA announced with 5-Inch 720p edge-to-edge display

Sony has announced its latest smartphone that falls in mid-range category dubbed as the Xperia XA. Company made the phone official at MWC 2016 held at Barcelona, Spain.

The phone comes in Rose Gold, Lime Gold, White and Graphite Black colors and will go on sale in Summer 2016. The mobile phone carries price-tag of EUR 299 (Rs. 22,650 approx.) and is already listed online at Amazon Germany for pre-order.

The phone has Single and Dual SIM variants, both support 4G-LTE / 3G HSPA+ networks. The handset has measurements of 143.6 x 66.8 x 7.9 mm and weighs 137.4 Grams.

The Xperia XA Specs include 5-Inch curved glass edge-to-edge display that gives 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Under the hood is 1.8Ghz Octa Core MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 Processor coupled with mali-T860 GPU.


The chipset is backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, further expandable up to 200GB using MicroSD card. the phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and is powered by 2300 mAH battery that uses Qnovo’s Adaptive charging technology.

The Xperia XA Features 13MP primary camera on the back with 1.3-Inch Exmor RS Sensor, Auto Focous, LED Flash and takes 1080p videos. ON the front is a powerful 8MP selfie camera that comes with Sony Exmor R Sensor and 88-degree wide angle lens.

Apart from 4G, 3G, this mobile phone has all the connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.1, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack etc.
