Sony Xperia M2 Aqua Full Phone Specifications -1

Sony has unveiled the Water / Dust Proof variant of its M2 Smartphone dubbed as the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua. The phone will be available in Black and White color options in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific starting Autumn 2014.

Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile at the announcement said that, “Xperia M2 Aqua is a significant milestone in our product portfolio as we bring yet another of our signature technologies to a new category of smartphones. The popularity of Xperia M2 showed us that there was a huge demand for premium Sony features at an affordable price-point. Following consumer feedback, we’ve now taken this a step further by bringing our waterproof expertise to a mid-range smartphone for the first time with Xperia M2 Aqua. It is a smartphone that lets customers take the best of Sony technology and entertainment with them wherever they go – come rain or shine – and we are excited to bring it to market.”

The phone dimensions are 140 x 72 x 8.6 mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 149 Grams. The is 4G-LTE enabled and flaunts IP65 / IP68 Certifications, thus making it Dust Proof and Water Proof up to 1.5 Meters for 30 Minutes.

The Xperia M2 Aqua Features 4.8-Inch IPS LCD Capacitive 4 Finger Touch screen boasting qHD resolution of 960 x 540 Pixels at 229ppi Pixel Density. The display has a scratch resistant glass for further protection. The internal hardware consists of 1.2 GHz Quad Core Cortex-A7 Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM 8026-2 Processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. The phone has 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card slot.

The Xperia M2 Aqua Specs also include a VGA Camera on the front along with an 8 Mega Pixel Snapper on the back. Some of the camera Features inlcude LED Flash, Auto Focus, Touch Focus, 4x Digital Zoom, HDR, Panorama, ISO, Geo-Tagging and 1080p Video Recording at 30 Fps. The handset runs on Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat OS out of the box. Sony has managed to squeeze in 2330 mAh Li-Ion non removable battery that gives Talk Time up to 11 Hours 23 Minutes on 2G or 12 Hours 11 Minutes on 3G.

In terms of Connectivity Features, The Mobile phone comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Dual Band, MicroUSB V2.0, USB Host, USB OTG, Bluetooth V4.0 with A2DP, A-GPS / GLONAS. NFC, FM Radio with RDS, 3.5mm Audio Jack etc. The phone also comes with pre-loaded Walkman and Movies application that offers Movies and Music via Sony’s own Music Unlimited and Video unlimited service. Moreover, the devices also supports SmartBand.
