Samsung T3 portable SSD with USB Type-C announced

Samsung has announced a portable solid state drive (SSD) named as the T3. It support most the latest Android Smartphones, Tablets and PC’s running on Windows and Mac. The device will go on sale in March 2016. Company is offering limited 3 years warranty however, did not reveal the pricing details.

Samsung T3 Portable SSD Specifications

This is a palm-sized portable SSD with measurements of 74 x 58 x 10.5 mm and 51 Grams weight. It has shock resitant metal casing for durability and highly based on same controllers and flash used in 2.5-Inch SATA SSD’s.

The Samsung T3 comes in 250GB / 500 GB / 1TB and 2TB storage variants and can reach sequential transfer speeds of up to 450 MB/second. It has UASP Mode and supports AES 256-bit hardware encryption.

The interface is compatible with USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 2.0 and include Type-A cable. This portable SSD from Samsung is RoHS2 compliant and has array of certifications like CE, BSMI, VCCI, KC, FCC, C-tick, UL, IC, TUV and CB.

The Samsung T3 works with devices running on Windows 7 or higher, Mac OS 10.7 or higher and Android KitKat 4.4 OS or high.
