Samsung has announced the Galaxy Xcover 3 rugged phone with IP67 and MIL-STD 810G certifications. It will be priced at Euro 275 which converts to Rs. 18,150 approx. or US$289. The phone will be showcased at CeBIT and is expected to reach stores in April 2015, says SammyHUB.
This handset is a 9.95mm thick and weighs 154 Grams. The military grade rugged built quality can safely take up to 1.2 Meters of fall. The IP67 certifications makes it water resistant up to a depth of 1 meter for 30 Minutes. This smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS which is upgradable to Android 5.0 in near future.
The Galaxy Xcover 3 specs include a 4.5-Inch PLS TFT Display with 800 x 480 Pixels WVGA resolution at 207ppi pixel density. It is powered by 1.2GHz Quad Core processor, 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of Internal Storage ROM. There is a MicroSD Card slot that allows further storage expansion up to 64GB.
On the front is 2 Mega Pixel selfie camera coupled with 5 Mega Pixel main shooter on the back with LED Flash and Auto Focus capabilities. There is a dedicated button on home, menu and back to launch camera or enable LED Flash.
This smartphone is 4G-LTE capable and supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.0, MicroUSB V2.0, A-GPS / GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm Audio Jack etc.
