Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Ultra HD Capable processor announced

Mobile Chip manufacturer Qualcomm Technologies has upped the stakes with the announcement of Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Ultra HD processors. This new chipset delivers the Highest performance with Imaging, video and Graphics at ultra HD resolutions of 4K, both on device as well as on Ultra HD TV’s. Currently the chipset is in sampling, devices running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Ultra HD Processors are expected in the First Half of 2014.

Features of Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Ultra HD Processors

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Ultra HD Processors is made up of Krait 450 Quad Core CPU and are the first mobile Processors that are capable of running at 2.5GHz per core.

  • Chipset will provide blazingly fast Application, web browsing and pure power due to its high bandwidth memory of 25.6 GB/s

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset also includes all new Adreno 420 GPU which supports hardware tessellation and geometry Shaders for 4K rendering. Devices using the chipset will be able to provide Crystal Clear user interface, Graphics and Gaming experiences at lower power. Adreno 420 GPU is expected to be 40% faster than the previous Generation GPU found in Snapdragon 800 SOC.

  • Chipset will have the ability to stream more Content using less power.  There is support for Hollywood quality video post processing, 4K HEVC (H.265) decode for mobiles.

  • Higher resolution photos, Sharper images and advanced post processing features. Chipset also includes Gpixel/s throughput camera support

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Ultra HD processors will have support for Gobi MDM9x25 & Gobi MDM9x35 modem support with LTE integration at speeds of 150Mbps. Chipset also supports Dual band  Qualcomm VIVA 802.11 ac Wi-Fi with 4K video stream.
