Microsoft Windows 10 OS might feature a new Spartan Browser

Microsoft seems to be working on a light weight Browser codenamed the ‘Spartan’ for its upcoming Windows 10 Operating System. The OS is scheduled to launch sometime in mid 2015 and if report from Zdnet is to be believed, the OS will ship with both Spartan and Internet Explorer 11 browsers.

Spartan will use the Microsoft’s Chakra JavaScript and Trident rendering engine. It will support extensions and will have Firefox and Chrome like feel. The Browser will come pre-installed with the Desktop OS however, sources have not confirmed its availability on Android and iOS devices.Keeping things positive, Microsoft is expected to showcase new features on Windows 10 OS on January 21, 2015. Spartan could very well make its way there in the event.
