LG’s latest flagship and LG G2 Successor the LG G3 is now official. The launch event took place on May 27, 2014 at six major cities globally, that includes New York, San Francisco, London, Istanbul, Singapore and Seoul. The phone will come in multiple color options like Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Burgandy Red and Moon Violet.

At the launch of the device, the Korean manufacturer did confirm that the LG G3 Smartphone will be made available on 170 Carriers globally from May 28, 2014. UK will get the phones from July 1, 2014 while India is expected to see the lights of the device as soon as next week.The 16GB variant of the phone is up for pre-order in UK for £500 (Rs. 42,000 Approx) however, we expect to prices to go down once the phone becomes available.

The LG G3 Smartphone has a rear Faux metal plastic cover made up using scratch resistant materials. The plastic is well designed to give out a metallic out look. The phone has slim bezels on the sides which makes 0.5-Inch larger than its competition. Power Button and the Volume rockers gets their position on the back side and are slightly enlarged with Textured finish.


LG G3 out ranks its competition by boasting a 5.5-Inch IPS LCD Display with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 Pixels. To add more butter, the pixel density is set in at 534ppi. The screen is capable of providing Vibrant Natural colors on the display, showing out even the minute details. Furthermore, the screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection as an added safety measure.

Hardware, Ram, Storage

LG G3 sports top of the line hardware making the phone a powerful beast. The phone get’s its processing power from 2.5GHz Quad Core Krait 400 Qualcomm Snapdragon 801  MSM8975AC Processor coupled with Adreno 330 GPU. Interestingly, the phone’s competing handsets boast the same SOC.

The handset has two variants categorized in terms of Storage or RAM. Of the two, 16GB Storage Version will come with 2GB of RAM while the 32GB variant will boast 3GB RAM. Both the version will have MicroSD Card slot for further storage expansion up to 32GB.


The LG G3 Camera is the same as G2 in terms of Mega Pixels. The phone houses a 13 Mega Pixel Shooter with all new Laser Auto Focus System. The focus time has been reduced to less than a blink of an eye, making it possible for Camera Hardware to shoot the picture and focus at the same time. It also has an improved Optical Image Stabilization Plus System (OIS+) and hosts Dual LED Flash.

There is a 2.1 Mega Pixel Front Facing Camera as well with wider aperture. There is also gesture detection for Selfie clicks as well.

OS, Software

The LG G3 will run on Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat Operating System out of the box. The User Interface has been made more flat with soft shaded icons. Company has also added a new feature called Smart Notice. It is a Google now like feature which helps user in day to day activities. Phone’s Smart Clean option will help users deleting unwanted Applications, Clear Caches and Free RAM usage and stop unwanted process. The phone also has split screen feature for multi-tasking as well.


LG has listened to the public this time and has included a 3000 mAh Removable battery. The company claims that the battery will last as long as of G2’s if not more. This is achieved vastly through proper software optimization and improved power management.


No disappointments on the connectivity front as well. The handset supports 2G, 3G, 4G-LTE Networks.
