KDDI has announced world’s first washable smartphone named the KYOCERA DIGNO Rafre. It is up for order in Japan (via KDDI) for 57,240 Yen (Rs. 30,985 / US$ 464) and will go on sale from December 11, 2015. The phone is available in Marine Navy, Cashmere White and Coral Pink colors.

In terms of dimensions, the phone measures in at 141 x 71 x 10.1 mm and weighs 155 grams. It has IPX5 / IPX8 rating for water resistance along with IP5X rating, making it dust proof as well. It is also the worlds first smartphone that is washable by hand soap and sustains water with heat of up to 43-degrees temperature.
The DIGNO Rafre Specs include 5-Inch TFT LCD Display that has Dragontrail X glass protection for added sturdiness. It has 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and supports wet-touch and multi-touch.
Inside is a 1.2GHz Quad Core 64-Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 Processor coupled with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage ROM and MicroSD card slot that allows further storage expansion.
This mobile phone is equipped with 2MP selfie camera and 13MP main shooter on the back with LED Flash. The hardware is fueled up by 3000 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.0, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS etc.
