Jolla C with 4G LTE, Sailfish OS, 5-Inch HD Display, 2GB RAM announced

Jolla, under its Sailfish Community Device Program Initiative, has announced a new mobile called the Jolla C. It comes in red colour and is priced at Euro 169 (US$ 188 / Rs. 12,660) including VAT and free shipping in Finland. Final price will differ depending on the country.

Company offered about 1000 units to developers and they were sold on the first day itself. Selected Jolla C users will get invitation to test Beta OS releases. Registered users will also get invitations to live online community sessions.

A limited group of first registrants will also get an invitation to our International Sailfish Community Event in Helsinki, June 17, 2016, where you can attend Sailfish-related workshops

Jolla C Specifications

The phone sports a 5-Inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It has 1.3GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage memory, futher expandable up to 32GB using MicroSD card.

The Jolla C Specs include Dual SIM slots with 4G LTE support. It has 2MP front camera and 8MP main camera on the back with LED Flash and Auto Focus. The phone has measurements of 142 x 72 x 9.6 mm and weighs 150 grams. It has 2500 mAh battery inside.

The mobile runs on Sailfish OS 2.0 and is compatible with most Android applications. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.1, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack etc.

An active developer and fan community has always been a core part of Sailfish OS, and we want to thank all our fans for their passion and support throughout the years. The program was sold out quickly after the launch, which is a strong message of the willingness to change the world together. As the Sailfish OS licensing is expanding, the role of an active community gets even bigger. We are now investigating if we can extend the program beyond this.
