Huawei Mate 8 smartphone running on Android 6.0 announced globally

Huawei has officially announced the Mate 8 Smartphone for the global markets at CES 2016. It was first announced in China back in November last year. It comes in Mocha Brown, Space Gray, Champagne Gold and Moonlight silver color options.

The 3GB RAM / 32GB ROM model is priced at 599 Euros (US$ 643 / Rs. 42,770 approx) while the 4GB RAM / 64GB Storage variant is priced upwards at 699 Euros (US$ 750 / Rs. 49,990). The mobile will sold initially in 30 countries that include UAE, France, Spain, Germany, Mexico and Australia.

The is a phablet smartphone with dimensions of 157.4 x 80.7 x 8.4 mm. It has 2.7mm ultra narrow frame, while the body is made up of aerospace-grade aluminum and  has 2.5D unique diamond cut curved glass. The phone has Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano SIM + Nano SIM / MicroSD Card) and supports 4G-LTE / 3G HSPA+ networks.

The Huawei Mate 8 Specs include 6-Inch Display that is equipped with 2.5D glass. It has 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 83% screen to body ratio and 95% wide color gamut. Cell phone gets the processing power from (2.3GHz Quad Core  Cortex-A72 + 1.8GHz Quad Core Cortex-A53) Octa Core Huawei Kirin 950 Processor with Mali-T880 GPU.


This mobile phone comes in two options of 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage or 4GB RAM with 64GB  Internal storage space. MicroSD card slot is also present for further storage expansion up to 128GB (via Hybrid SIM slot). The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Emotion UI 4.0 out of the box. It also sports a fingerprint sensor on the back for added security.

The Huawei Mate 8 Features a 16MP primary camera on the back with Sony IMX298 Sensor, Phased Detection Auto Focus, Dual Tone LED Flash and uses Huawei’s own ISP. On the front is an 8MP secondary camera as well for selfie and video conference.

Company has managed to include a 4000 mAh battery inside. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), VoLTE, Bluetooth V4.1 LE, GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack etc.
