Google Maps get the real time public transit update feature

Now, Google Maps will give the real time public transit updates like arrival of buses, Subways and metros. Still in the initial roll-out, the feature will be available for UK, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Budapest and Netherlands.

Google has partnered with 6000 transit authorities to convey the information at Google maps. This new feature will show the transit options on top of the screen and the approximate waiting time. Moreover, Google Maps will also give alternate options in-case some one miss the train or bus.

Google has also revealed that Maps Public transportation info now serves in 64 countries with 18000 cities and 2.5 million train stations included.
