Cat S60 with 4.7-Inch HD Display, 3GB RAM announced, Features world’s first Thermal Camera

Cat Phones has launched its first flagship phone named the S60. It is first of its kind to integrate thermal camera on the back. It is priced at RRP €649 / $599 (Rs. 41055 approx) and will be unveiled at MWC 2016.

Cat S60 Specifications

This is a rugged smartphone, dust proof, waterproof, easily sustains under water at depths of up to 5 meters for one hour. The camera can also be used under water. The phone can also survive drops on concrete from up to 1.8 meters and has MIL grade specs.

The Cat S60 Specs include 4.7-Inch Display that has auto wet finger and glove support. The screen has 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, 540 nits brightness and has Corning Gorilla glass 4 protection for scratch resistance.


It is powered by 1.5GHz x 4 + 1.2GHz x 4 (Octa Core) Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space. The phone features an 13MP main shooter with Dual LED Flash. It also has dedicated FLIR Thermal camera application that uses MSX technology. On the front is 5MP selfie shooter as well.

The Cat S60 smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box and is powered by 3800 mAh battery inside.  Phone supports 4G-LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth V4.1, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS etc.

The thermal camera visualizes heat that is invisible to the naked eye, highlighting temperature contrasts. It can pick up heat and measure surface temperatures from a distance of up to 50 to 100 feet, and see through obscurants such as smoke, enabling a huge range of use cases for building professionals, utility workers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, emergency first responders and more
