Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus goes official – Specs, Price, Comparison

Apple has finally announced the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus phones at a special launch event. Both the phones comes in Silver, Space Grey, Gold and Rose Gold color options.

Both the iPhone models will go on sale in 12 Countries ((Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, HongKong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the U.K.)  from September 25, 2015 and the pre-orders start from September 12. Other markets will gets stocks in second wave.

Both the phones come in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants.The cellphones will be available via all major carriers like Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon etc. Bellow figures are exclusive taxes, so expect 10% increase (at least).

The iPhone 6S models are priced (Contract Free) at US$ 649, US$749 and US$ 849 respectively depending on the storage. Users looking to buy iPhone 6S on two years contract will have to shed US$ 199, US$ 299 and US$399 for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models. Apple has also announced special upgrade schemes with monthly payments of $32 (16GB), US$ 37.45 (64GB) and US$ 42.45 (128GB). (Price may vary)

The iPhone 6S Plus on the other hand carries contract free price-tag of US$ 749 (16GB), US$ 849 (64GB) and US$ 949 (128GB). Users opting for two years contract scheme will have to pay US$ 299, US$ 399 and US$ 499 respectively.  Upgrade schemes are the almost the same as iPhone 6S.

Apple iPhone 6S has measurements of 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm and Weighs 143 Grams. The iPhone 6S Plus on the other hand is slightly larger, measuring in at 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm and has weight of 192 Grams.

The iPhone 6S features a 4.7-Inch Retina HD LED backlit Display with 3D Touch technology. It has 1334 x 750 Pixels Resolution, 1400:1 contrast ratio and 326ppi pixel density.

On the other hand, the iPhone 6S Plus features a bigger 5.5-Inch Retina Display that has 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD Resolution and includes 3D touch technology. The screen has 1300:1 contrast ratio and 401ppi pixel density.

Both the phones have 500 cd/m2 max brightness with full sRGB standards. They fingerprint resistant oleophobic coating on the front and sports Dual domain pixels for wide viewing angles and Display Zoom feature as well.

Chipset, Memory:

Both the mobile phones are powered by Apples very one A9 Chipset that has 64-Bit Architecture and comes embedded with M9 motion Coprocessor. The chipset is said to have 70% faster CPU and 90% faster GPU when compared to its previous generation A8 Processors.

Both the models have 2GB RAM and comes in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage models. There is no MicroSD card support.

The the smaller 6S sports a 1715 mAh Li-Po non removable battery that gives up to 14 hours of 3G talk time, 10 hours of Cellular internet usage and 11 hours on Wi-Fi. The phone is said to have 50 hours of audio playback, 11 hours of video and standby time of 10 days.

The 6S Plus boasts a larger 2915 mAh Li-Po battery, also non removable. The larger battery gives a bumped up talk time of 24 hours (3G), 12 Hours of internet usage, 80 hours of music and 14 hours of video playback.
