Apple confirms PrimeSense Deal, the company behind Microsoft’s Kinect

Apple Spoke person confirms the Apple PrimeSense acquisition deal

There have been rumours floating around since a week regarding the Apple’s latest Acquisition of PrimeSense, the company behind Microsoft’s Kinect. Now the news regarding the acquisition has been confirmed. The deal was previously reported by Israeli Source Calcalist. According to the report, Apple has acquired PrimeSense at a price of $345 million.

An apple Spokesperson confirms to All Things D regarding the deal citing, “Apple Buys smaller technology companies from time to time and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans”  Sources close to matter has reported a slightly higher valuation from previous reports at $360 Million.

PrimeSense got its share of fame from its 3D Motion sensing Technology which was initially used by Microsoft Gaming Consoles. With this acquisition, we expect the Cupertino Giant – Apple to use this technology to improve and develop variety of new products.
