Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 – Full Tablet Specs, Price

Amazon launched Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet that is successor to the Kindle Fire HDX that was launched back in 2013.  The phone comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants and is priced at $379, $429 and $479 respectively. The 4G-LTE version for AT&T / Verizon is slightly priced higher at $529. The Tablets are up for Pre-Order in the US and will go on sale from October 21, 2014.

The Tablet Sports 8.9-Inch of IPS Display that comes with features like advanced polarizing filter, reduced glare, Dynamic Image contrast, 100% sRGB Color accuracy and 400 nits of Brightness. The screen has 2560 x 1600 Pixels resolution at 339ppi Pixel density and supports 1080p Video Playback.

The device is equipped with a powerful 2.5GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 MSM8084 Processor coupled with Adreno 420 GPU for smooth multimedia performance. The Tablet has 2GB of RAM for lag free performance and comes in multiple storage options of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (2014) specs also include a 720p camera on the front along with an 8 Mega Pixel Snapper on the back with LED Flash, Wid Aperture 5p f/2.2 Lens and Electronic Image Stabilization. It runs on the latest Fire OS 4.0 Sangria which is based on Android 4.4 Kit Kat. The company claims a battery life of up to 12 Hours of mixed usage and quick 5 hours of battery charge up via Power Fast charging accessory that is included in the box.

The device has 3G and Optional 4G-LTE support. It also has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi (MIMO + HT40), Dual Band, Dual Antena, Bluetooth V4.0 with A2DP, MicroUSB V2.0 with Slim port, 3.5mm Stereo Jack and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. GPS is also supported via 4G connecitivty
