Acer has announced its latest Chromebook 14 under Google’s Chrome for Work initiative. It will go on sale in May 2016 and comes in several models. Its pricing starts from US$ 349. (availability and pricing will vary depending on regions).

For starters, it has dimensions of 330.9 x 227 x 22.4 mm and weighs 1.45 Kg. The device is sturdy enough to withstand up to 60 Kg (132 pounds) of weight / downward force. Moreover, it can also sustain drops of up to 48-inches (122 cms).
Acer Chromebook 14 for work houses spill resistant keyboard that can take spills of up to 330 ml. It has MIL-STD 810G grade build that allows protection against humidity, dust, temperature and drops. It has unique gutter system under keyboard and touchpad that drains spills and routes it away from internals.
It has 14-Inch Display with 1366 x 768 pixels HD resolution or 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD resolution depending on variant and comes with Vibrant Corning Gorilla Glass protection as well. Inside is 6th generation Core / Celeron CPU’ which can be configured up to 8GB memory. Depending on variants is 2GB / 4GB / 8GB dual Channel LPDDR3 RAM along with 16GB / 32GB eMMC storage space. SD card slot for further expansion is also present.
Chromebook 14 for work has Trusted Platform Module solution that provides additional security for files, documents, photos etc in cloud. 100GB of free storage on Google drive is also included.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (3 to 5 times faster), USB 3.0 pair, HDMI out, USB 3.0 Type-C etc. It also has an optional docking port with single cable that allows additional displays, speakers and connectivity to 5 USB devices.
